Working with us

UMIP builds positive working relationships with individuals and groups with complementary skills and resources. By working in this way, UMIP is able to leverage the specialist domain knowledge and expertise necessary to build world-leading companies and form synergistic technology development collaborations and partnerships. We are constantly refreshing and evolving our network and if you belong to any of the following categories, please connect with us.

Investors

We welcome interaction and involvement with a wide range of investment specialists, including business angel groups, high net wealth individuals, seed corn investment specialists, venture capital houses and funders of social ventures. The breadth of our technology/IP portfolio and variety of our spin-out propositions provide opportunities across many sectors.

Management

While our academic entrepreneurs are complemented by UMIP's Venture Managers during the earliest stages of the spin-out process, external managers and management teams with domain specialism, detailed market knowledge and a rolodex of useful contacts can be transformational in the development of high growth companies. We are actively reaching out to such teams and are always happy to respond to enquiries from interested parties.

Consultants/Collaborators

We augment our internal capability by out-sourcing various discrete projects to consultants and collaborators. These projects include, IP audits, primary market research, referencing investment propositions, and the brokering of partnerships, collaborations and licences on an international basis. We are pleased to work with groups who share our vision and ambitions and who have the flexibility and creativity necessary for success in these areas.
