Funding Opportunities – Meet the EPSRC Healthcare Technologies Team

The whole of the EPSRC Healthcare Technologies Team is visiting the University on Thursday 5th December.  They control a significant share of the EPSRC budget – both directly and indirectly, and are keen to see more EPS researchers addressing healthcare challenges – read more below.  This is an opportunity to hear about their strategy, and meet the team over a networking lunch.  If you already work in healthcare, it’s an opportunity to catch up with the Council’s current thinking; if you don’t, it’s an opportunity to find out about new funding opportunities; for the University, it’s an opportunity to put Manchester on their map.

The details are as follows: 5th December, 11-12.30pm, Room 306a&b Jean McFarlane Building, presentation, Q&A and networking lunch.  To attend, please complete the survey at:

Healthcare Technologies is a new EPSRC Challenge Theme that is relevant to all the Council’s capability themes (Engineering, Mathematical Sciences, ICT, Physical Sciences).  It has its own substantial budget and will also work with each of the capability themes to develop health-related research initiatives in their area.  There is thus a lot of funding associated with the Theme, and a strong strategic push from EPSRC to harness the strengths of the EPS community to make a real impact on healthcare.
