Express Licensing

If you would like to make your intellectual property available for research or commercial use, we’d like to hear from you

Our Express Licensing services can help you make your research outputs instantly available to a global audience. Our Express Licensing team will quickly assess your non-patented Intellectual Property (usually copyright materials) and recommend the best way to disseminate your “Express IP”.

How Express Licensing works

Whether your Express IP has a research or a commercial application (or both!) we can connect you with your target audience, either through our fast-track licensing portal Click2Go or with one of our partner distributors.

Click2Go uses a simple, click-through licensing process and can also take online payments. The order process can be completed in a matter of minutes and allows customers to download any digital content (e.g. software, images etc) quickly and easily.

If using one of our distribution partners (e.g.specialising in research reagents or healthcare tools) represents a better option, we can make your IP available through the most appropriate channel.

No-charge IP

Even if you do not want to charge a fee for your IP, UMIP can still help you by disseminating your research outputs for academic or clinical research or to the NHS and charities free of charge. This will further your research collaborations whilst still protecting your copyright through controlled distribution. We will, however, usually charge a licence fee to for-profit organisations.
